I was new in DC and decided to go to my friend Jamal’s for a chill evening… which quickly turned into a spontaneous club night, despite me wearing tracksuit bottoms and a Washington Wizards shirt (tragic, I know 😭). On the way, we stopped to pick up Tochi and Quadri. They stepped out of the elevator looking like exactly the type of people I would want to be friends with, and I was instantly starstruck and deeply embarrassed by my outfit. I immediately over apologised and promised this was *not* my usual vibe. But just like that, we clicked. I drove with them, and we bonded over on the way. We talked about everything. It ended up being one of my best nights in DC, it genuinely felt like fate. Tochi and Quadri are truly some of the most amazing people I know, they’re family to me now. I can’t wait to celebrate you both again soon.
